XTCは、世界規模のスタートアップ・コンテストを通じて、社会課題に関する解決を推進する非営利団体です。このコンテストでは、有益な新しいテクノロジーとイノベーションを産む、次世代の起業家の育成を目指しています。
国連サミットで採択された、17つの持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）と連携し、地球と人類とが直面している最大の課題を、テクノロジー用いて解決するイノベーターを支援し、ご紹介します。
XTCは、持続可能な未来を支え、ブレイクスルーを必要とする有力候補者達に、必要な資金、戦略的パートナーシップ、およびメンターシップを提供します。
The Extreme Tech ChallengeSM (XTC) is a nonprofit devoted to promoting education and science through its global startup competition. This competition is designed to elevate the next-generation of entrepreneurs creating new technologies and innovations to benefit humankind. Inspired by the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, XTC supports and showcases the innovators harnessing the power of technology to address the greatest challenges facing humanity and our planet. XTC provides top contenders the funding, strategic partnerships, and mentorship they need to pioneer technological breakthroughs and help power a sustainable future.
XTC HISTORY
XTCのコンテストは、コストをかけずに、起業家とその企業がリソースとネットワーキングを強化し、飛躍するための場として始まりました。これまでに世界中から何千人もの応募者を迎え、Lynq、Elevian、Doctor on Demand、Wanderu、Cresilon、Bloomlifeなどの新興スタートアップへ投資してきました。出場企業はその後、合計で440億円もの資金調達に成功しています。これからも私たちは、ミッションに基づきその範囲を拡大しながら、起業家とその企業の人生を変えるような経験描き続けていきます。
The XTC® Competition was founded to empower entrepreneurs and their companies with resources and networking so they can scale at low to no incremental cost. Previous iterations of the XTC® Competition have welcomed thousands of applicants from all corners of the globe, and incubated rising startups such as Lynq, Elevian, Doctor on Demand, Wanderu, Cresilon, and Bloomlife, which have raised a combined $440m since the competition. The new XTC® Competition will draw on those life-changing experiences while expanding the scope and scale of the mission.

XTC JAPAN REGIONALS
XTC日本大会の特徴
Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) はグローバル課題に技術で取り組むスタートアップを発掘・支援する世界最大規模のピッチコンテストです。独自ディープテックや既存テクノロジーの革新的応用を中心に世界100ヶ国から数千社が集結し、約80のXTCグローバルパートナーVC・企業・団体がファイナリストのグローバル展開を支援しています。
日本大会であるXTC JAPANは2020年より毎年開催され、過去登壇企業の約7割が大会後に資金調達を達成。優勝スタートアップはXTCファイナリストとして世界大会参加・海外調達・海外展開でディープテックや先進テクノロジーに強いグローバルVCの支援を受けられます。
大会5年目となる2024年よりJID（JAPAN INNOVATION DAY） by ASCII STARTUPとの同時開催。選抜10社によるピッチステージやスタートアップによるブース展示をはじめ、世界のディープテックVCによるパネルトークや、海外展開中のスタートアップ座談会などテクノロジー×グローバルをテーマに起業家・投資家・企業家の皆様をお迎えしています。
Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) is world’s largest startup competition and ecosystem for entrepreneurs addressing global challenges with technology. XTC showcases thousands of startups from 100+ countries with their deep-techs and innovative technology applications, where the finalists receive supports and global acceleration from 70+ XTC Global Partner VCs/corporations/organizations.
XTC JAPAN regional competition is annually held since 2020, with 70% of the pitching startups successfully raising funds after the event. Winners of XTC JAPAN are recognized as XTC Global Finalists and get fundraising, business mentorship and networking support from global VCs experienced in deep-tech & new technology areas.
Starting in 2024, the event’s fifth year, it will be held concurrently with JID (JAPAN INNOVATION DAY) by ASCII STARTUP. In addition to a pitch stage featuring ten selected startups and exhibition booths by startups, we welcome entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders to join panel discussions by global deep tech VCs and roundtable talks with startups expanding overseas, all under the theme of Technology × Global.

XTC日本大会は、ピッチ登壇社の資金調達の高い成功率が特徴です。XTC JAPAN 2020-2024のファイナリスト49社のうち34社は登壇後に資金調達に成功しており、そのうち5社は主催VCであるIT-Farmが出資。過去に優勝・準優勝した13社中9社は今では海外事業展開を実現しており、XTC JAPANは事業性や世界的ポテンシャルの高いテクノロジー・スタートアップが数多く参加しています。
XTC Japan is distinguished by the high success rate of funding among companies that pitch on stage. Of the 49 finalists from XTC JAPAN 2020–2024, 34 succeeded in raising capital after their pitch, and five of those received investment from IT-Farm, the event’s hosting VC. Among the 13 companies that have won or placed as runners-up in past years, nine have since expanded their businesses overseas. XTC JAPAN attracts a large number of technology startups with strong business viability and significant global potential.

The “XTC JAPAN Advisor Network” has been launched starting from the XTC 2024 Japan competition, providing XTC JAPAN entry companies with the opportunity to consult with the following university VCs and global VCs regarding fundraising and business development. The operational VCs of XTC JAPAN will facilitate contact with advisors based on the startup’s consultation needs.

Technology knows no borders. Deep tech and technology startups tackling humanity’s greatest challenges have the potential to take on significant ventures with the global market as their stage. However, many international investors view Japan-originated deep tech and technology startups as “highly advanced and attractive investment opportunities, yet lacking a strong global business presence.”
XTC is an ecosystem that brings together approximately 80 global venture capital firms and major corporations with long-standing histories in Silicon Valley, Europe, and Asia. Our mission is to provide entrepreneurs with opportunities for global fundraising and business development networking through pitch contests co-hosted in over 20 regions worldwide.
Since 2020, we have held the annual Japan competition, “XTC JAPAN,” offering deep tech and technology startups mentoring and networking opportunities to thrive on a global scale. We sincerely look forward to your participation!
